KAA opened its doors in July 1988 and has become a leader in primary data collection ever since. During this period the company has expanded its client base from local enterprises to include national and international companies. The majority of banks in Lehigh Valley are present or former clients. Regional banks and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Banks are also included in our client list. International companies like Bell & Howell and Lucent Technologies have also used KAA Inc. for research purposes.

The company was started by Kamran Afshar, Ph.D. in 1988. Dr. Afshar has a Ph.D. in Economics, and has taught at graduate and under graduate levels between 1978-88. He has long and established experience in data collection and analyzes. Dr. Afshar is known for his regular economic columns and lectures concerning inflation, employment and economic growth. He currently serves as the director of the Lehigh Valley Consumer Research Center and the managing editor of the Lehigh Valley Economic Review. He is also a frequent contributor to several newspapers and business journals.
